(( As requested I am posting Genstyl's origin. ))

Zolara slept, a sleep of the exhausted. For months she had worked and reworked her device. Its one purpose, to locate Gentyl. No rescue could be effected if no one could locate the missing leader. Mikafar had provided a lock of Gentyl's hair, the means to locate her. The device was carefully planed and exotic power from all of Azeroth, and beyond, used to activate it. Everything was in place. But it had not worked. It made a show of light and mist and sparks like nothing Zolara had ever seen. The lock of hair glowed, infused with all of the swirling power. Engineering skill alone could not get the location device to work. Zolara had the right combination of crystals, orbs and power cores to try one more time. She decided to rest, to try again, and that was the state she was in now.

Zolara had been alone all of these months. The Barracks had emptied out slowly over time, after Gentyl had disappeared. Except for a Gnomettetron who assisted Zolara, she was alone. It was the Gnomettetron that sat and watched as Zolara slept. A glint of intelligence showed in those eyes. An automaton, such a glint would have been alarming to any flesh and blood person. There was no one to see that glint. No one to see those eyes turn to Zolara's device. The automaton had developed a thought that had turned to a wish. A wish to know life. It had witnessed the great power and how the hair had been infused. The Gnomettetron walked over to the various chests that contained the power crystals and orbs. Taking each and placing them in their assigned spots it readied the device for the wish she had thought. When all was readied it created the settings on the control panel and stepped into the device. With a flip of a switch the Gnomettetron took hold of the lock of hair and smiled.

The device warmed up with a slight whirr of gears. The crystals and orbs began their release of energies. Some arcane, some elemental, some even fel. A metal spinneret lowered from the top beginning to spark with the accumulated power the device was generating. Everything in the workshop began to shake as the energies built to the devices purpose. Zolara fell from her bed waking her.

"Wha, what is going on." she said turning to the device and witnessing the final sequence. The Gnomettetron smiled as large as her gears would allow. The spinneret released its pent up energy and a swirl of lights and colors surrounded the automaton. Zolara shielded her eyes to the blinding vortex of power. A burst of light left a glowing mist that diminished over time. Tendrils of the power mist dissipated revealing a figure where the Gnomettetron had stood. With flowing auburn hair and green eyes and a smile. A flesh and blood smile. A Gnome now stood in its place. A Gnome that resembled Gentyl. She stepped from the device and looked at herself then to Zolara.

" Im ... I live." She said to Zolara. " It worked and I live." Then a shade of something crossed over her eyes. That shade disturbed Zolara. " I have you to thank little one. I have you to thank." With a move so quick Zolara did not really see it as feel it, Zolara was struck and darkness returned.

Almost as soon as Gentyl rode through the gates, she was halted for being an imposter.

Gentyl was bone-weary and not in the mood for jokes. "I assure you I am not an imposter. My name is Gentyl and I'm a member of the Holy Guard."

The guard kept hold of Traveler's bridle. "You're not a gnome."

"You win. I'm not a gnome now get out of my way before I accidentally drop that bag of bombs.
She rode away shaking her head. "Not a gnome indeed."

Abominus skitters through the streets of Stormwind, trailing a pack of angry .... well, everything in Stormwind. Was it his fault that the Cathedral's Altar Cloth needed re-ichoring? "No, not at all", churpled Rodriguez, Maggot-at-Large and Horde Ambassador. " That brilliant white cloth was made for purple, black, and green fluids to cover it. Why, it was practically inviting it, no?"

Abominus nodded as he ran down a small pack of screeching orphans. "Yesss, it makesss sssenssse when put into proper context, yesss." Snatching a limp body up and placing it into his bags, he passed a stunned Gentyl at the gates. Waving cheerfully, he passed out as catapults, stormhammers, and arcane explosions bracketed him.

"You looked good for a gnome-creature, Gentyl Ssshe-thing, yesss! We will eyesssocket at you later, yesss, after lunch, yesss!"

A small army pursued the Maggot Lord, but his wiles confused them, and they returned, muttering darkly to themselves.

Another guard stopped her as she rode past the hero board. "It's all your fault?"

"Excuse me?"

"If you'd been watching the Cathedral like you were supposed to instead of playing with that gnome disguise, the altar cloth would still be intact."

Gentyl sniffed the air around the guard. "Have you been drinking on duty? I have no idea what you're talking about."

(Ha, the Maggot Lord and I missed him. Love it.)
