The Story of Northshire

Tucked away from the world, in the tiniest corner of the Elwynn Forest, the Northshire Abbey has stood as a symbol of the Holy Light and the faithful for generations. Even before Alonsus Faol led the Clerics into the First War, they were known for their generosity and love of the Holy Light. Their spiritual guidance to those in the Elwynn Forest was unparalled and their lifestyle was often praised for helping keep peace in the Forest.

After the end of the First War, a new story is told in the stained glass of the Abbey of pain and suffering. The abbey reeked of death, and the injured were scattered about its halls. The abbot, terrified for his Clerics, shut the Abbey’s doors and Alonsus Faol did not return for many years. When the Second War came to a close, and the stains of Northshire’s suffering had nearly been whitewashed away, Alonsus Faol returned.

It was on the day of his return that he proposed a new order, the Brotherhood of Northshire, which was ultimately embraced by the Clerics. After the success of the Order of the Silver Hand in the north, Northshire’s Clerics sought to bring life back to their old halls. The Brotherhood stood stalwart through the end of the Third War, supporting the war effort, until the Clerics returned to their abbey to continue a quiet monastic life.

Now, with the front on Draenor closing slowly, a former Cleric of Northshire has sought to restore the long lost, original Holy Order of Northshire. With an interest in charity, medical relief, militant peacekeeping, exploration, pilgrimages, relic hunting, education and clerical work, the Order has been reformed to stand yet again as a symbol for the faithful.

(OOC) Introduction

The Holy Order of Northshire is a restoration project of the original Clerics of Northshire, who have been active in the Northshire Abbey for centuries. Not only geared to bringing lively roleplay back into Northshire, but forming a collective of roleplayers who enjoy roleplay geared around the Holy Light. From our ministerial work to peacekeeping in Duskwood to charitable aid and educational seminars, the Holy Order seeks to provide as much as it can to the community.

Inspired by medieval monasteries that were hubs of everything from education to trade to political deals, we’re hoping to create Northshire Abbey into a bustling hub that welcomes all guilds into the halls and provides them with enjoyable, dramatic and entertaining roleplay.

We are currently recruiting and looking for roleplayers with all levels of experience who enjoy Holy Light-based roleplay.

People with all levels of experience are welcome, as long as you're willing to learn and grow! We do require a roleplay profile addon such as MRP, TRP or XRP and a brief, IC interview! We look forward to seeing you around.

Looks really neat, and very similar to a guild I thought about making. Best of luck to you guys, Light-based guilds with a focus on charity and humanitarian work are very high on my wishlist of concepts to see running around.

I'd definitely be interested in RP'ing with you guys and participating in events, but Kayleina is currently on Draenor and that will continue to be her main focus for the next month or two until she's pretty much done with it after having been on it most of the xpack. She is due for a short trip back to Azeroth though, so perhaps next week.

Very intentional, most everyone we've recruited is a Paladin or Priest, and we've limited our recruitment to those classes but we do welcome others should they be devout to the Light.

I'll definitely be checking you guys out once I level up a bit and develop this character a bit more. I am returning to the alliance for the first time since the release of Burning Crusade, it takes some getting used to playing a human :)
