You may have found your way into possession of a dingy sheet of paper, unremarkable to the eye at first glance, only those who would have stolen it from a pocket or had it hand delivered by some manner of courier would pay it any mind. It reads,

If you are reading this, then either your reputation precedes you or you have found us on your own wit. Either way, congratulations, you are invited to the rebirth of an age old tradition. Since the demise of The Worldbreaker, the Assassin’s League has fractured into shambles as the Black Prince took his champions from amidst the ashes of Ravenholdt Manor. The proud underground, which Ravenholdt served as a core pillar for, has started to fall apart and deteriorate in recent years.

No longer when I see a fellow brother of the blade do I feel safer, like I did in the past. No, I grow more wary of my purse and possessions. There is no warm comfort in having a sister of the shadow at my side. I am sure many of you have noticed the unease between those of our kind, something that used to be unthinkable in the days of the League.

I want to fix this, to bring back this brotherhood between the members of all races, the return of the League, of not only assassins, but of sneak thieves, saboteurs, and weavers of the shadow. If you find yourself among those looked down upon, I wish to welcome you home.

On the 7th day of the 10th month, a meeting will be held. To find the location is up to you, this one will not be gifted to you on your reputation. Consider this the second part of your invitation. The days ahead are growing dark, and with proper preparation, we can return to our power as we puppet from behind the shadows.

Come alone with your allegiances left behind. This is no time for racial pride or petty grudges. In the darkness our shadows are all colored the same. I will accept no in-fighting.

Greetings Accordions! This is something that I’ve wanted to put together for a while now, and have never had the drive or time to do so. I’ve always loved non-guild organizations as an RP pillar of communities. I really enjoy mixing with people outside of my immediate circle and meeting new people who I generally wouldn’t have met otherwise.

I plan to make this into a semi-reoccurring event for thieves, vagabonds, and general mercenaries who might take the spare mission or two from an underground source. If your character had interacted with Ravenholdt Manor before their dissolve at the end of Cataclysm, you might recognize the name Rita on the end of the letter. Cascia is using her father’s name as leverage to pull in more experienced rogues, while leaving flyers in prime pickpocket locations to attract upcoming talent.

Trying to build the kind of underground that can be built across factions, guild, or even competitors is a daunting task, but with the forthcoming class halls in legion there has been a surge in support to the point where I think the idea is worth pursuing. I don’t want to make a plot that I invite others to be character a part of; I want to cultivate a good center of interaction between people instead. While this would involve some plot to draw it all together, I don’t want to be in any spotlight, the opposite in fact, I’d rather sit back and watch the others as they show off their skills in storytelling and allow me to see even a brief glance into their characters.

The core idea behind the events will be firstly a place to emulate the roguish class vibes: Shady deals, hidden meetings, thievery, and perhaps a bounty or two. I don’t want to see this just a mill for ‘quests’ though, I want to encourage others to come into the group with their own ideas. I don’t even have a full path set for where anything is going. I want the group’s path to be shaped by its members. To start off though, I am going to be sticking with a more underground feel as things come together, with secret meeting places and more mystery. To start off each meeting, a clue will be posted in similar fashion to the original for each member to solve ahead of time along with the date and time. By no means necessary, as I’ll send out invites, even potentially cross server if the interest is there, but it allows each person to get as invested into the idea as they want.

That’s all I have for now though, if you’d like to ask me about the idea, go ahead! Just try to phrase your criticisms in a positive light and I’ll get back to you. I really hope this can be something that picks up and moves forward with some momentum into the class halls of Legion and beyond. I’ve already talked with a few of you rogues and am excited to get going with what we have talked about!

I'll see if I can get 'Fat Tony' and the Crew to get into contact with you, they've been running an underground smuggling-operation out of Stormwind and Ironforge for over a year now, this sounds like something they'd enjoy getting off the ground.

If interest goes well enough, I'd bet tempted to open this up to cross realm. You could probably show up anyways if your off realm. Most of the stuff will be happening out of cities, and Xrealm might take over.

I've put it up on my calendar - might be nice to blow the dust off my smelly old rogue. :)
