Hello everyone!
First thanks for your interest in my post, I appreciate it!
Before I get to far ahead of myself, I'd like to mention I'm looking to do a Live Stream of our sessions, possibly recordings too. So this means, you would have to be okay with talking IC, and being IC most of the time. Not to mention being okay with having your IC immortalized on YouTube and the Internet via a Podcast.
Now that's out there, I am looking for 2-3 GM's (Game Master, similar to D&D's DM) to write, advance the character and group paths, and play the sessions of the campaigns out with the Players in the party. Perhaps a player or two as well, possibly re-occurring characters through the story arc?
So about 3 weeks ago, I had an idea while watching Critical Role, on Geek and Sundry. I thought "Can we take what we love about wow (Freedom and interactive play style), and mash it up with some strict rules and also work in some kind of Rolling System, to not make everything a faceroll while leveling (like it has been for years now).
Can I capture that Vanilla feeling again? When good gear upgrades were a HUGE DEAL! When it was actually hard to try to kill mobs in packs, not just pull them all together and mow them down. Can we build excitement around a character, yet still have a very real threat like Diablo's Hardcore mode.. so when you die, you can't come back.
So after a week or two of brainstorming.. I think this is possible. We'd be leveling starting at 15, using lvl 1 whites. Not allowed to use Green items (vendor trash), but you can equip Blues, purples and legendaries. No Heirloom gear, despite 2 trinket slots (May be revised after testing). To make it even more interesting, you have to pass rolls to equip the gear, you fail the item is considered destroyed.
I have a full set of rules (which have yet to be tested live), and some players committing. I am in need of creative writers and thinkers, whom feel they would enjoy GMing sessions, knowing wow lore is important and a huge plus. No experience required, just be knowledgeable and creative.
I want 2-3 GM's per Campaign, mostly due to splitting the work up, not not make it as much of a cross to bear. Plus it could help when running the game to have more than just 1 person to help interact with the group and make all of the greased gears run smoothly behind the scenes.
IF you are interested, want to find out more, or just have questions. Check us out. on the website, there is a link to all of the rules and explanations.
