I've had this idea for awhile now, and as much as I would like to create and host this event myself, I do not have the time to do so. Perhaps some of you can get mileage from this.
The idea is a traveling performing troupe/caravan that would travel to different places (maybe one week having it outside of Thunderbluff, then the next in Orgrimmar or Stormwind) to perform and entertain people. (Basically, a cooler version of the Darkmoon Faire.) Obviously we can't have tents or structures (unless already in the environment) without doing some extreme fabrication. However, for physical props I was thinking of using rocket launchers (obtained from the Lunar Event) to create light shows during the actual event. (This idea was inspired from attending a Wyrmrest Accord light show in Stormwind.)
Originally I was to have Blitzbang (my goblin rogue) to be a part of this, but as stated I simply do not have the time. Her role would've been this: during the event, it would be announced that there will be rogue (or rogues) putting/removing random objects into guests' pockets, perhaps a coin or a ticket they could redeem later. (Or perhaps slipping in a raffle ticket into people's persons.)
Another idea for the event was having a raffle - guests receive tickets with numbers 1-100 (or simply pick a random number between 1-100), and one of the people hosting the event could simply type /roll. Whoever gets the closest number to the one picked gets a prize, whatever that may be.
I also wished to have a fortune teller selling fortunes (Mysterious Fortune Cards), for much cheaper than the AH. This could easily be done by a mage or goblin with a wizard hat (which I considered Blitzbang to do). There could also be a cook(s) selling food/booze. Stuff like this could help fund the the event (as I would imagine those rocket launchers need parts, as well as purchasing a raffle prize if/when needed).
I talked about this a few times in HordeOOC and had a few suggestions/volunteers for it too. I believe a DK wanted to act as the "strong man" for the group, and a hunter considered obtaining certain pets to put on an exotic animal show.
Originally I wanted to have this event be Horde-only, however thinking about it, I thought it may benefit from both Alliance and Horde, similar to AAMS. Plus, there would be more variety and possibly more participants if it were cross-faction.
The original time for this event was to be placed Fridays at 7:00 PM server time, however I am told that Friday nights is when most people raid. I have yet to confirm this with actual raiders, however it would be nice to add another weekly event to the current list of wonderful RP events we already have.
Would anyone go for this at all? Or even begin to construct it? I had a positive reaction from OOC, however I thought I ought to share it with you guys in a little bit more depth.
