Hello SoE-ers, just thought I'd share a bit of what I do that keeps me "in shape" in this new endgame as a tank.
A few times a week (more if I can) I'll head out to the Verrall Delta in T.H. to play with the water elementals. I round up half a dozen and then begin the fun that I like to call "mobile tanking". Apart from the elementals' random spell flinging (minor damage) and their continued hits, they have something called [Water Spout] where they begin a 1.5 second cast or so and summon a blue swirl on the ground beneath you. You either need to interrupt it or move yourself away immediately, or risk getting shot up in the air, thus taking fall damage <while> they continue to throw their spell bolts.
Here comes the math... with six elementals who cast [Water Spout] every 12 seconds, that's roughly one blue spot every 2 seconds if they rotate. You will not be able to interrupt them all, so it's a hit-hop-drop fight. Take them out one at a time if you like, but I prefer to take them all out at the same time, prolonging the dance.
Granted this may be DK oriented as I use Deathstrike like nobody's business, however a paladin with some good word of glory procs would do fine as well. A warrior may want to do the kill-one-at-a-time approach thus giving you a guaranteed victory rush, but you also have a chance for that during combat without having a kill? (I think... I don't play warriors)
I know that most heroics and raids have <some> sort of "no stand" zone, although not as frequent as this, however - keeping up with the idea of being mobile will increase your alertness towards new situations. I hope this helps and happy tanking! :D ~Aera
