((Short one today: the second part did not quite line up, so I decided to break it into two posts. Thanks for reading and thanks for your feedback.))
Rongar had walked deep into Durotar. Having crossed the Valley of Trials, he was now face to face with a towering monolith bearing the markings of the four elements: Spirit Rock. This was the sacred place where young shamans deepened their connection with the earth elements before venturing out on their first guiding quest.
Rongar never visited Spirit Rock in his youth. He had learned the ways of the shaman from the elders back in the old world. Still, he was hopeful that this place could bring him renewed strength.
He closed his eyes. Cautiously, he called upon the elements of earth, asking for their aura of protection. For a moment, the shaman felt a brief surge of a response. Then, just as quickly, it was gone.
Leaning heavily on his cane, Rongar began the long walk back to Orgrimmar.
