Suni's Guide to RPing a Worgen

I was actually wondering if it was possible to RP as one of the original Druids of the Pack that fell to their feral urges then regained their senses perhaps giving up druidism after that event hiding amongst the Kaldorei as a smith or some other profession for fear of what they lost themselves to. Then with the Worgen outbreak they could feel like they would be needed to teach the new Worgen how to control the form only to get re-entrapped within the form only without the feral behavior...

Ex:
Jarod Starsong was one of the original druids of the Pack following the teachings of Goldrinn and fell to the feral urges just like the rest of the pack. Eventually he was helped back into control by Ralaar and then left the order before they were forced into their slumber hiding amongst the Kaldorei as a simple herbalist to maintain a connection to nature and practicing his druidism in secret. With the recent events in Gilneas he would reveal himself to have maintained control of the form and now, to aid the gilnean's in controlling their feral side, he has taken the Worgen form again only to this time find a more deep and meaningful connection to it feeling once again more at home in the Worgen form then not.

I was wondering if that would be a viable story with the staying in worgen form the way that In RP anyone that decided to play this route a way to get around not having a Night Elf form.

It's actually a possible idea. Something a bit more exotic and tough to pull off, but if you have read the Worgen Comic (and I believe you have) it's not impossible. The Night Elves got in before the Cataclysm ever struck (which gives odd options for getting out, too), including a worgen druid who was one of the original ones.

I'd just be careful. ^.^

Also, you could have two characters. One an elf and one just a worgen. It may be difficult to pull off, but it could be more fun that way! Up to you! :)

But yeah, plausible idea.

Cool, thanks, I have not actually read the comic but I have done a fair bit of reading on Wowwiki to try and put the pieces together. With so many people going to be rolling worgens to RP, which is how I'm going to get into RPing on WoW, I wanted to do something that not everyone was going to do so I did my research and picked an idea that was far from center topic.

Once again thanks for the confirmation you seemed to have a pretty good grasp of Worgen history so I figured you were one of the people I'd like an opinion from.

It's possible to play a Gilnean that was not in Gilneas when the wall was closed, though. I'm sure a few Gilneans were in Lordaeron and escaped the Scourge in the flight south along with Lordaeron natives. They could have been in Stromgarde or Alterac as well.

Tricky to pull off and filled with hurdles to overcome, but I would imagine it's not entirely impossible.

I am currently working on the backstory of Armond, part of the backstory covers Pyrewood Village. As this is a key part of his story and how he attracts the curse I want to make sure it does not conflict with the timeline. I plan to have it after Pyrewood Village is cursed so the affliction is similar to how it happens to those to start a character behind the wall.

As you mentioned the gates have been closed for twenty years, but do you by chance know how much time passed between the closing of the gates and the curse placed on Pyrewood Village by Arugal.

Thank you,
~Armond

Thank you, everyone! <3

Actually, the time-line is incredibly tricky. Arugal left Dalaran after it was razed by the Scourge the first time. I can't remember when that is, but I'll have to look it up. He was the one who summoned the worgen who attacked both the wizards and the scourge. After that failure, he fled to Shadowfang Keep and cursed the citizens of Pyrewood... Hmm, I'll just go look it up now.

The tricky thing is that there are numerous conflicting timelines on Wowwiki, going from official to RPG to unofficial that have various dates for the first and second wars. This changes the date, and the amount of years that the Greymane Wall was put up. We can only assume it was -around- 20 years ago. Since we're not really keeping track of years in World of Warcraft, it's more based off of a rough "years ago" kind of thing.

All right! I'm looking, I'm looking. Dalaran was damaged in the Second War and rebuilt, but then destroyed in the Third War (which was about 7-8 years ago). It might almost make sense if he cursed them after the Third War because then the worgen would have taken time to infect Gilneas... Let me just check up again..

Perhaps someone else knows when it was? When I logged into the beta yesterday, the little script that showed the brief history of the Gilnean worgen said Arugal cursed the Pyrewoods after the Third War. Someone else may jump in. :P

Edit: The time space...

Thank you, that is exactly what I was looking for and I now know there wont be an issue with Armond's background. It would put him around 31-35 when the Shattering occurs, which is where I thought he would end up.

Now I can focus on my kaldorei druid.

I would like to say anyone can make their worgen character have been born after the Greymane Wall was put up. I know most of you already know that, but it's an option, of course. :P

And I know you're not really -supposed- to bump because it's considered spamming...

But I'm still bumping! But I'm also running around panicking about how it's the end of the world tomorrow! xD

Anywho, press that 'like' button a few more times, people.

Damn.
I was planning to make my worgen as dark-skinned as possible. Would this still be viable?

Was this ever answered?
If It was, my skimming didn't find the reply.

Recent videos show they have added some darker skin tones however they don't look to be as dark as the humans.

(Female skin tones had issues loading on this one but it shows all the males)

(This one shows the darkest female skin, it happens really fast so keep your eyes open)

Much like you I plan to make a character with a darker skin tone (Armond will not be one of those behind the wall so he would have been exposed to more sun light before he was twice cursed), I think I'll be happy with the options given though I don't like the fur color so we'll see as I don't plan to stay in human form as often as worgen.

Allow me to be blunt.
By "dark" I meant "Black".

Or asian at minimum.

I think worgen human forms were purposely given lighter skin tones then stormwind humans, mostly because well look at their climate, its based off england, which, back way in the day, the people their were fairly pale compared to other places

heh, well that darkest skin tone you can get is like a tanned skin tone, but then again, since fur colour is tied with human skin tone, choosing that may give you an undesirable fur colour :P

(yes Im Canadian and yes I spell color as colour, so HA! :P)

The worgen I plan on RPing is actually from Silverbrook. He is a survivor who blames the Alliance for killing his family, and came to Stormwind for vengeance. Much to his good fortune, he discovers that the Gilneans are all worgen now, and have been welcomed into the Alliance, which makes his job of blending in that much easier.

Nice!

Mine is a graverobber. The new place behind the District will give ample resources.
