Suni's Guide to RPing a Worgen

If you quested in Duskwood, they administered a type of "cure" to Sven, who was a newly turned worgen without his insanity. This "cure" enabled him to become a mostly sane worgen, if not as good as the Gilneans.

I think there are tons of plausibilities, but the most cemented ones are found through questing. I think the worgen in Duskwood that aren't sane can definitely turn others into worgen, but the Gilneans will come into play and try to help these insane worgen become sane.

A lot of people don't like stereotyping under the race they've been given. Playing a Gilnean who's been bitten is really too boring to some people. As long as its played correctly with proper lore behind it, it should be fine.

I may not have gotten the whole question in your post about that, so if I missed anything, tell me. :P

Not sure if anyone's asked but would it be possible to play a foreigner who arrived in Gilneas just before the wall was built or are all worgen native Gilneans?

@ Holywalker: Most likely. I'd have to go back to Grizzly Hills to understand everything, because I'm not sure how they were "cured" and all, although I suspect the Lich King had a hand in it. Go ahead! Tons of RPing opportunities in the world of worgen. Don't need to completely stick to being a Gilnean.

@ Thenar: Nah, you can probably have a foreigner there. I had an idea for a character posted in this thread earlier, bt I'll re-announce it here so you can understand and expand if need be, or just take from it.

She was young when Stormwind was destroyed, causing her to be taken by her single parent to Lordaeron. Unfortunately, with the Orcish Horde attacking, Lordaeron was bursting with enough people to protect. She was forced to go to Gilneas. The wall was then constructed and she fell in love with someone from Gilneas. Partially by force because of the wall, the character chose to stay there with her beloved until the worgen came.

So it's fine, as long as it was before the wall was built.

I doubt anyone could get in after the wall was built. Even Belysra the Night Elven Priestess who created the Scythe of Elune with Ralaar had to have been there before the wall was put up, but that's not for sure. I assume there were sentries all over the wall, and it was practically impossible to scale it or get over.

I learned that about six days ago the second comic for the worgen series come out, so I think I'll have to buy that and see if it expands upon this! I hope I can be of more assistance.

I did you all a big favor and went through and edited it all out. The backstory and origination now makes more sense because I'm not so confused anymore. It actually follows the time-line, too. Since I received the Cataclysm Collector's Edition, I thought, upon finding the letter within it from Lorna Crowley to a girl named Margaret, it'd make for some insight.

Yes. They do write letters. So here you go:

Dear Margaret,

I heeded your advice from last week to board up my windows and buy a reinforced door. None too soon, either; the Starlight Slasher struck a household not two blocks from my own last night. I inquired with the authorities at the scene about what they're doing to reign in this murder spree, but they didn't even grant me a second glance, waving me off with the usual "Stay off the streets and lock your door!" I know most of them don't trust me, but they're not proving to be trustworthy themselves, either.

Well, I'm not one to sit around, waiting to get dragged off in the middle of the night! I've started training the mastiff pups I bought from Rupert on a lark last month to track a scent, and they've taken to it quite well. They'll make fine hunting and guard dogs soon, so I'll be happy to pass one off to you once they're able to track a scent decently; they're right pleasant company, and it'll help your young ones sleep better. That's at least a month off, though, so just consider the offer for now.

Which brings me to the reason for this letter: the attached package is a blunderbuss, so be sure to unwrap it at home and keep it somewhere hidden, but accessible. I threw some spare powder and buckshot in there too -- no, no need to thank me. You helped my father when he was in a rough spot and Crowleys never forget kindness freely given. Take the gun and keep safe. I fear things are going to get worse before they get better.

Sincerely,
Lorna Crowley.

Personality: When it comes to being a Gilnean, you're always a Gilnean of Gilneas first, and a Worgen second. Considering Gilneans have been human longer then they have worgen, it's only natural!

If only that was true. I see about 50 Worgen who pride themselves as the brutes who gave them the curse, and about one as a Gilnean.

But, oh God. This guide.

It is far too sticky. I will have to report it.

Yeah, I know. There are so many guilds and worgen out there who are being hunted by humans, and ICly, I really don't get it. They have their sanity, and they're still humans.

Thank you! I try to help.

I'm currently questing in Duskwood, and it offers up interesting bases for new serums for worgen of places such as Duskwood.

merit.

Sooo, have you got any thoughts on this topic? How plausible do you think it is to RP out ex-feral worgen?

By definition all player characters are ex-feral worgen. Your feral career was just very brief. :)

I added a small misc section with a few lore updates for you to use to your benefit. These will be added through questing.

I'm being kept busy. With the new story about Genn Greymane having been released, minor edits will be made to the post. Please keep patience, as each post is at its maximum 5000 letters, so a lot will have to be transfered to the next post!

Also, bump for a long while. ;P

Yeah, the fan fiction probably makes more sense, although some things that are in gray areas. I think, if you read the comic, the introduction seems to make more sense then what's in-game as Belysra is there even before the Shattering. (Sorry for such a slow reply. x.x)

I would strongly suggest that one download "The Lord of His Pack" a free short story that's available from the Blizzard website.

http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/cataclysm/features/genngreymane.html

the page also had a downloadable PDF of the story.

Here is a few more jobs for Worgen.

Mastif Breeder-Mastifs are most commonly found in Gilneas. That and judging by the fact they only appaeard after the Cataclsym means they must have orginated from Gilneas. So it would only make sense that someone knows how to breed them.

Trapper-the stags and the foxes easily show that Gilneas is not short on game. and judging by the lack of sunlight and hilly geography, meat and furs would be very popular.
