Question! Are there any sources that indicate how numerous druids are in Kaldorei society?

Thats a good one, there isnt really...you have to take in account the players that are druids then the other druids in past history that might not be recorded.

There isn't, however they weren't the majority of males so the number can't be extremely high.

How does Kaldorei law work, exactly?

Let's say...Aqui is a citizen. She steals something from another citizen. She gets caught. What happens?

What about crimes against nature, or aiding an enemy of nature similar to the situation in http://www.wowhead.com/quest=489?

Imprisonment, fined, exiled, what?

And then a Warden is only supposed to work on huge evil supervillians, right? Who are the regular peacekeepers?

Maybe its like maritime law, you get tied to a mast and flogged.

Kaldorei law is enforced by Sentinels and Wardens with the Temple passing judgement. Judgement may be passed on sight however, given that the offense is extreme enough.

There are different levels of punishment. The lesser punishments, for small offenses aren't known but are likely things such as repayment of services or civic duty. The more serious punishments we know of are imprisonment, exile and death. Imprisonment can last a few months to years to hundreds of years to thousands of years.

Prison seems to be the usual reaction to a crime that doesn't warrant death, with time spent depending on the crime in question. Those who are too dangerous or unrepentant to keep in society or prison are exiled (see: Highborne). Those who commit serious crimes would be put to death, at the discretion of the Temple and/or the soldiers present at the place of the crime.

Wardens are a combination bounty hunter and secret police. Wardens watch everyone and everything, trying to route out traitors or hunting down their quarry. If you broke the law and a Warden was watching, most likely you'd be captured and dragged off for judgement instantly... assuming your crime wasn't obvious or serious enough for immediate judgement at the Warden's hand.

So yes and no. Wardens do not actively look to police minor offenses, they don't hunt small time theives. But if they're in the area and notice an offense, they'd most likely intervene.

Remember, Kaldorei society is more akin to a dictatorship than a democracy.

All right, here's a question.

I haven't read the books or the comics, so my understanding on this might be a bit light, but where is it stated that Kal'dorei refer to their significant others as mates?

I ask this, particularly because Knaak doesn't seem to be the singular source for a traditional Night Elf marriage. Wedding Hanboks have been sold in Moonglade since Vanilla, and before the Cataclysm, I remember a couple from Feathermoon Stronghold which referred to each other as husband and wife. There is also Illusa Lune, whose "husband" was killed by Kreug Oathbreaker.

All of this makes me wonder if there is actual grounding in lore for the term "mate" among Night Elves, or if this was speculation now taken as fact.

Mate has cropped up once or twice in the books/comics but particularly it is simply for a lack of any other word. The RPG books state that they don't marry very often. As well, there are people saying that the wedding between Malfurion and Tyrande was retconned a bit but I've yet to see any written proof.

Now, it is fully possible that Illusa Lune, given her position as an innkeeper in Wintergarde (a 7th Legion and mostly Human outpost) was a liberal or very intergrated Night Elf.

But as I said, Night Elves normally do not marry. Consider how long it took Malfurion and Tyrande to marry, 10,000 years of being life mates.

Typically, Night Elves refer to their life mates or significant others by name (Or a shortening of their name) or calling them "my love".

This, I can accept. Lae isn't really traditional, though I really try my best to keep her squarely as an -elf-. This does help a bit, though.

This came up in conversation the other day. How the heck do you keep track of time in Tedrassil when the sun doesn't shine through?

Listen to the hour bell/gong thing. :3

Well....lore wise, night elves are nocturnal so, if you see plenty around its like night time ish, if there sleeping ,its morning or midday.

Does *%!#ing animals count as a crime against nature in Kaldorei society? I mean, one of your demigods was born because Elune had the hots for some big white stag.
