Hello everyone, I've been wanting to get into RP for a little while now, and I have (admittedly randomly) picked Cenarion Circle.

I will say that I've read about general RP rules and such, and I really think I would enjoy it, but I was wondering if anyone could recommend maybe a good guild who would be forgiving in helping me learn the finer points of RP?

Note that I still have yet to create my RP character, so I also have not picked a faction or class yet. I am thinking though that I will choose a Worgen if I decide on Alliance, probably a Tauren if I decide Horde.

Welcome to Cenarion Circle!

From my own experience, most, if not all, RP guilds here are very welcoming of newcomers. Mostly, just expect an application and an interview as part of the process of joining an RP guild. We have to separate the wheat from the chaff, as it were. Not that anyone will necessarily be judging your worth as a role-player, but most guilds have a theme that they try to stick to, and would like to see if your character is a good fit for that theme. My own guild (AAMS and AAMS Alliance Branch) requires both an application and an interview, although both are fairly casual.

In terms of which guilds are known for helping out newer role-players, my only experience is with <Azeroth College> Alliance side and <Homeland> Horde side. I am sure there are others that I am ignorantly failing to mention, so I would suggest joining the RP channels and asking around. Make sure you Join /allianceooc and /hearthstoneic or /hordeooc and /hearthstone respectively.

Make youself known, and know what kind of char you want to play before you jump in, it will help you in the end when you get an Idea for what guild type you want in on.

On the Alliance side, there is also the Azeroth College for RP teachers and students. The Anywhere, Anytime Messenger Service also likes to help people accrue RP experience, but I'm not their representative and I don't know if they are recruiting.
