SCHEDULE
What would be your ideal meeting schedule? M, W, F, starting at around 10am Pacific (1pm Eastern) and going for 1-3 hours depending on our activities.
Would you be okay with less often? Sure!
Would you be okay with more often? Yes, if the meetings were no more than about an hour/hour and a half, or less structured and just kind of "hanging out" type stuff.
What other differences in that schedule can you tolerate (later/earlier/etc.)? I can start an hour earlier than that, and I can go until 3pm Pacific/6pm Eastern.
If we do your ideal schedule, estimate how often you'd attend (life happens!): I might miss one meeting a week or so if there were that many; then again I might have perfect attendance. Depends on my writing schedule.
What's the shortest/longest meeting you would enjoy? Less than an hour would seem like a bit of a waste of effort; more than three hours and I start to get twitchy. More than four hours is probably off the table without a significant break.

What sort of characters do you enjoy RPing with (other players)? I like to interact with characters who are kind, intelligent, and have at least some sort of sense of humor. I also like "regular guy" kind of characters who RP as having power about equal to their in-game level and don't have a lot of special powers or odd backstory.
Do you prefer a group that's same-race or different-race? I kind of love just the visual of a same-race group, as well as the RP possibilities and the chance to start from level 1 together, but I'm willing to mix it up if need be.

What activities should we do when we're all together? Questing, dungeons, maybe a BG now and then!
What sort of pace should we set, leveling-wise? Slow enough to smell the roses and really experience each zone and questline IC rather than just rushing through and obsessing over the numbers.
What optional aspects of the game do you NOT enjoy? Sometimes tradeskilling can be a drag (read: smithing). I have a love/hate relationship with holidays and achievements. I do not like raiding or getting really hung up on gear/spec/stats or being told "the" way to play, though I do enjoy little tips on how to make certain class abilities work better for me, etc.
Should the same person be in charge each time or should we rotate? Rotation would be nice but only if there is someone else who has the will/ability to -actually- direct things confidently. I really hate sitting in the backseat while a driver sits there going, dduuuhhhhh.
Would you be interested in occasionally leading/planning meetings? I imagine this will be the default, but like I say, I'd appreciate some relief.
How planned should the meetings be and how spontaneous? I think I would have a plan for every other meeting (or maybe 2/3) and then have the remaining meeting just be, "Okay, what do you guys feel like doing today?"

OTHER STUFF
How would you prefer the group stay in touch? I'd like to have an ongoing thread on the Blizzard server forums so others can spy on the fun we're having and know to RP with us if they see us, etc. It will also facilitate latecomers joining us/replacing dropouts down the line.

How tolerant are you of typos/misspellings/bad grammar in others? I can tolerate anything other than deliberate "texting speak" or just profound disrespect/disdain for the whole idea of grammar (I am a writer and language is my love!). If you're at least trying to speak English well, then you're ok in my book. I RPed for years with a brilliant guy who was dyslexic and I am used to any number of horrible spellings as a result.

Would you be okay with less often? Yes. I still have some commitments to my other characters, and sometimes less is more.

What sort of characters do you enjoy RPing with (other players)? OOCly, I like people that can come up with a quick response, that don't mind mixing and matching RP styles, and are good at following established lore while throwing in their own stuff at the same time.

What would be your ideal meeting schedule? IDEALLY any weekday or weekend from around 11pm to 3 or 4am eastern, though I could do 1pm to 6pm if that works best. I'm very flexible
Would you be okay with less often? Yes (but I'd probably get wrapped up in the character and storyline and what not and would be itchin' to play/roleplay him! =P )

What other differences in that schedule can you tolerate (later/earlier/etc.)? I can do just about any time except for after 6pm to about 11pm eastern time.
If we do your ideal schedule, estimate how often you'd attend (life happens!): I'd probably rarely miss meetings, though if I had to I'll be sure to notify the group!
What's the shortest/longest meeting you would enjoy? Shortest, no shorter than an hour I'd say. Longest, really no limits for me, though if the meeting were to somehow end up being 4+ hours I may have to leave partway through depending what time it is and what's going on that day for me.

What would be your ideal character? DPS (maybe tank). Any race, Alliance or Horde (except for Blood Elves). I'd be pretty interested in a Night Elf, I love Dwarves and Gnomes, have a good bit of experience RPing as a troll.
Could you enjoy playing something else? If so, what? Yep! I'm really up for anything as long as I don't have to roll a Blood Elf! (I don't know why, I just don't like being a Blood Elf... if the group decided to make Blood Elves I could always make another race to join in somehow >.>)
What sort of characters do you enjoy RPing with (other players)? Characters that are seeking adventure and are friendly. I also agree with Mishalah on the "regular guy" idea... usually how I make most my characters. Makes the adventure more exciting in my opinion!
Do you prefer a group that's same-race or different-race? I think a group that's all the same race would be really fun and interesting. Though I do also like the idea of other races from different parts of Azeroth meeting together somehow and ending up being a close-knit group of friends/adventurers. Also variety in races adds variety to character personality and individuality as well in my opinion, but I'm open to both ideas with no real preference!

What sort of pace should we set, leveling-wise? A slow enough pace so that we may emerge ourselves ICly and get into the questlines and whatnot. Though at some points I wouldn't mind leveling a bit quicker (ie beginning zones or uninteresting zones).
What optional aspects of the game do you NOT enjoy? Not a big fan of end game and gearing. Too much repetition and too much work that's not even fun in my opinion.
Should the same person be in charge each time or should we rotate? I think it would be a good idea to change up who's in charge each time, though don't make people be in charge if they are uncomfortable being in charge of course.
Would you be interested in occasionally leading/planning meetings? Sure! As long as I knew what I was doing!
How planned should the meetings be and how spontaneous? No preference unless big events are happening in a storyline then I think meetings should take place when most people are available in order to include everyone in exciting events

OTHER STUFF
How would you prefer the group stay in touch? Forums work well. Maybe the real ID thing after people get to know each other and are comfortable with it. That way if we see anyone get on while on a different realm or character we could just pst 'em and meet up to RP or something during unscheduled times just for fun.

Rate your command of the English language, 1-10: I will say 8, because I am guilty of the your/you're slip up once in a while. And I still fight with my keyboard from time to time.
How tolerant are you of typos/misspellings/bad grammar in others? Very. I have been known to blame my keyboard for having dyslexia. However I am not a fan of 'Txtsheek' or 'Leetspeak' while IC.

Wheeeeeeeeee, this is going to be a fantastic group! Great responses so far! Going to try to suggest a specific idea for the group by the end of tonight, and then those participating can help tweak the idea with me on the appropriate server forums.

Okay, so I have two possible ideas I'm going to throw out here. First of all, I've decided to have the group on Cenarion Circle, because I have just begun to feel quite comfortable there.

Since everyone who expressed interest is awesome, and there are only 5 spots, I've done the "casting" based on who filled out the questionnaire first. :-) I figure those are the most eager. If I'm wrong, and you just couldn't get online today or whatnot, please contact me; I want to include as many people as I can!

IDEA # 1 - THE LUNAR PROPHECY
You are a Night Elf, born a century ago during the Lunar Festival. On your last birthday, months ago, you were pulled aside for a series of strange tests by some of Elune's most powerful priestesses, and you have now been called to officially begin your training in a certain discipline and serve the Alliance. You are given the name of four others you are ordered to train with, but you are not told why. Only that you must guard these four with your life, as they will guard you.

Warrior tank - Norbil
Druid healer - Sohei
Hunter - Me
Mage or rogue - Oyam
Priest DPS - Tlachinolli

IDEA # 2 - BLEEDING SKY CLAN
Two decades ago, the Bleeding Sky Clan was wiped from existence and stricken from both written and oral record... with the exception of five individuals under two years old who were given mercy. Like all members of their clan, these babes had been branded with the Bleeding Sky symbol at birth. The five babes were scattered into different circumstances, some loving, some cruel. But now, someone has told them the meaning of the brand, it is up to the clan's few survivors to find out what happened and decide if the clan is to have a future.

Warrior tank - Me
Shaman healer - Sohei
Warlock DPS - Furen
Hunter/rogue/mage DPS - Norbil
Hunter/rogue/mage DPS - Oyam

You will see that the cast is not quite the same for each one. In Furen's case his desires were so specific he didn't fit neatly into the other idea, and in Tlachinolli's case it has to do with some stuff we discussed in-game about her availability. Scheduling is going to get tough later down the road with her so I put her in one idea but not the other as a way of acknowledging that this setup may not be 100% ideal for her.

Those who are in both "casts" please give each idea a 1-10 rating for your enthusiasm for it and I'll use that to decide. If anyone who got left out really wants in, go ahead and do a questionnaire and I will try to find a way to work you in somehow. :-)

Ooh. How will I rank them, I like them both. My brain is off delving into both ideas and trying to feel for a character.
If I had to absolutely pick one idea over the other I think the Bleeding Sky Clan. . Only because the possibility of such different backgrounds might lend to a more diverse group of personalities to work with.
I will leave the voting up to greater minds than mine. I am good either way and will do my best with whatever you chose.

I'd like to play a conservative Night Elf priestess who is uncomfortable with all of the recent changes in Night Elf society and would like to go back to the way things used to be.

I'm willing to play almost anything. Except warlocks. Okay, you might be able to get me to play a warlock too, but you'll have to talk me into it. I'm especially open to playing (another) warrior, probably night elf as well (maybe be a Warden).

What sort of characters do you enjoy RPing with (other players)?
That's kind of a difficult question to answer. I prefer playing with people who don't mix IC and OOC drama, of course, and also people who might be willing to tackle difficult themes.

Do you prefer a group that's same-race or different-race?
Well, my ideal character would prefer a same-race group and it would probably be easier to justify her joining a same-race group...but character development might be more interesting in a group of people she's extremely wary of, so I'm very much open to either.

I'll say 4. I like a bit of it, but I'm not a fan of entire plotlines revolving around it.

Never actually had a romantic storyline before, but I'd like to try one. I'll say 7.

Well, I am a native speaker, which means that what English is is partially defined by me, so 10! If you're expecting strict adherence to arbitrary prescriptive rules, however, I am far too much of a linguist for that.

What you call "bad grammar" I call "interesting morphosyntactic phenomena." I'm actually much, much less tolerant of linguistic prescriptivism than I am of...interesting morphosyntactic phenomena. So, to honor Mishalah's request, here is my rating vote.
IDEA # 1 - THE LUNAR PROPHECY : My vote a 4.
IDEA # 2 - BLEEDING SKY CLAN : My vote is an 8.
However this is just in terms of how interesting the idea sounds at first glance.

I like both ideas a lot, finding the Lunar Prophecy to be alluring because I have never really played a Night Elf nor RPed as a Night Elf, though I do like the background story of the Bleeding Sky Clan a bit more, having the members scattered and raised in different conditions. I'm really open to both ideas just about equally, though was wondering if there was a specific race to be rolled for the Bleeding Sky Clan? Orc maybe? Or would it be multiple races?

Also I'm willing to trade rolls/classes with anyone who would prefer to have the roll I am chosen for.. just as long as I don't have to roll a rogue or priest, cause I have an 85 of each! Anyhow, Lookin' forward to what other people think!

Although, I also have a lot of alts on Alliance-side on CC, and my main is an old grumpy night elf. They wouldn't be of the same level (but then, that means you don't need to pull me into the physical group as I have no need of the exp), and I'd love to come along on the sidelines. Maybe as a mentor?

Oh, yes, I should have mentioned, the Bleeding Sky Clan is meant to be orcs. I suppose it could also have meant dwarves, now that I reread my description. Durrrrrr. Orcs!
