it's a terrible website and wowpedia is far better,

The few times I've looked on both sights for different views on information I've noticed a ton of stuff is exactly the same. Word for word. Like the first majority of these pages..

I find both of them to be fine, as long as you realize some of the facts may not be 100% correct.

Because, unfortunately, it means that Darnassus would be the only city without a portal to the Blasted Lands and the trek between the two Kalimdor cities was too difficult to make. These are OOC reasons.

I suggest you go read Wolfheart.

There's a boat between Azuremyst Isle and Rutheran Village.

If they didn't want it to be there, they wouldn't have put it there. Arcane, in-game, is legal in Darnassus (and the Temple of Elune for that matter) despite what the book says. The game should take precedence over the novels if there is a conflict, as the majority of players do not read the books.

Game mechanics? It doesn't change the fact that it is in-game and is in the Temple of Elune-- one of the holiest and most sacred Kaldorei locations--showing that society does in fact now society. I would understand "game mechanics" a bit more if it was just the Dark Portal portal which is in all locations, but it also includes the Portal to the Exodar.

Game Mechanics. << Seems... Rather logical to me, really...
And as for the portal to Exodar, I think Blizz just wanted an easier avenue for Draenei players or anyone wanting to go to Azuremyst.
In fact, when I RP, I don't even consider the portals there as IC. /shrug.
Keep in mind, RPers are a very small percentage of Blizzard's subscribers compared to all the others. It's easier for them to just do this instead of abiding directly to their lore and putting the portal outside somewhere. That'd be irritating for the average PvEer or PvPer who just wants to get somewhere fast.

Blizzard supports wowpedia because it has far less flash exploits in its ads, which leads to password stealing. Also the more recent the news (cataclysm) the better the wowpedia article.

Also if I remember correctly WoWwiki had some issues a while back when they started implementing more adds, getting complaints from the people using the site about how it was causing headaches, and they needed to go about it a different way. Which is understandable, there are like six ads on a page. And they basically said no.

Once again, there's a boat. Anything like this in-game is law. Blizzard has previously said that they're careful when putting things in-game, from NPCs to patches of grass, to maximize immersion in the game.

Yea she's right on this totally. Wolfheart blatantly had Malfurion say the highborne are not allowed to practice their spells in Teldrassil. He seemed to almost want to get violent about it. It's like the first few chapters of the book.

There's two portals right below Malfurion and I believe there is someone training mages.

If you've responded to the bit about trying to start drama so far, i don't think you were under scrutiny in the sentiment. Just sayin'

I will not lie in that I did it thinking the links would magically work, which they didn't.

I'm against this until more guides happen, we have enough stickies already.

No offense of course meant to the content, but we don't need another sticky unless it's for all the races and the race guides were actually updated.

Speaking of which, time to go read through Azuremyst quest lines.

I'd love to see the human RP guide... Or the blood elf one...

Draenei one might be good for laughs, depending on who posts it... The lore, it is missing!

Even Lord High King Metzen said some things in novels are "less canon" than others.

I post my citations. Can you do the same?

I do not nor will not consider consider Wolfhart canon no matter how much it is preached.

... The books are considered canon. Even if you don't consider it canon... It is. I understand why you wouldn't want to consider it canon, since I feel the same about WotA, but eh... What're you gonna do?

As broken as some of the quests are, however....

I find this kind of silly, considering that many quests in the game are far more based on comic-relief, instead of real lore, then the books are.

That's just book mechanics.

In-game should take precedence over books. Always.

Really, if something like this is so easily disputable (and contains a rather important contradiction between book and game) it shouldn't be in the guide without a label as it being subjective.
