Zl, I apologize for giving you !@#$ earlier, you're cooler than I thought. My bad.

Raoul, why people keep saying you're a good guy is still beyond me, you have yet to have exhibited any qualities that most people would deem "good".

Avarence, chill, stop with the senseless hating, people might think you're just an ignorant troll or something.

Np Necero, I had a tarnished reputation with people outside the PvP community, and It's my responsibility to change that.

Come into AllianceOOC.

Let me steal your pants a few times.

It'll clear everything right up.

This thread has taught me which new people I should be avoiding these days.

The world might not revolve around RP, but the realm certainly does.

Or should. We are, after all, an RP realm. There needs to be something that separates us from a "Normal" realm.

So sez I, at least.

It's a tag. It lets people who have an inclination to RP know where to congregate.

I say this as a long-time role-player. It will give you nothing but grief to reject the people beyond the RP community. You don't have to play with them, but you do have to share a server with them.

While I don't get the impression you're one of those people who think it's a war and you need to drive the non-RP'ers "out of our home", I've seen numerous role-players who do have that mindset. That only hurts the community by polarizing the non-RP'ers against it. There's a reason some of them hate role-players and it's not just because they think you're weird for role-playing. A lot of role-players come with some notion that they deserve special treatment and not surprisingly, the non-RP'ers resent them for that elitist attitude.

I completely agree with this, there were certain people that had this aura of superiority that they felt they were entitled to have because this was an RP server and simply because of that, they were above all Non-rpers. Ragefang isn't one of those individuals in the slightest. I am actually very happy to see the amount of RPers supporting my PvP comeback, and it is only helping the server by breaking down that wall of RPers vs Non Rpers.

I've never seen any hate on non-RPers for being non-RPers, just on the ones who go out of their way to ruin RP. I have never seen, "If you don't RP, why are you on a RP server?" in Trade chat, but I have seen a lot of, "If you hate RP, why are you on a RP server?"

I can give you a quick example, when I was casually talking to Ragefang in allianceooc I got a quick, "If you aren't a roleplayer, why the hell are you in our channel?" from someone else in the channel. That's kind of uninviting if you ask me.

It's kinda !@#$ like "what is this Pikachu thou speakest of? oh, you must be one of those lunatics who escaped from the Stockades last week." A role-player might think it cute to talk to a person uninitiated with role-play like that, but to a non-RP'er, you're an %^-. If you do RP with a non-RP'er, do it in a way that's not demeaning. If you're dealing with a new RP'er, be understanding and go to their level, maybe just a bit above it--you know, something they can relate to and have a reason to strive to better their RP. Acting like a !*## will turn people away. Seen this happen so many times. I've gotten to the point where I resent role-players who do that. And if you're really just not in the mood to deal with a non-RP'er, you can politely whisper them and ask them for peace or go find a more peaceful spot for it where you won't be bothered.

It's often good to quote someone with what they've actually said. ;)

As a point of fact, someone else whose name escapes me indicated non-RPers weren't welcome in the AllianceOOC channel, at which point I responded that anyone, RPer or non-, was welcome in the channel as long as they weren't trolling or actively antagonizing RPers.

I don't mind being quoted, but at least be accurate about it, please. :D

Rage, I apologize. That was a horribly written sentence, what I meant to say was someone in the channel said that while we were talking.
