Pia will once again be hosting a box social open to all.

In case you missed the previous ones, here's what happens.

Ladies (the last one was men) prepare a "box lunch" to be auctioned off for charity. The ladies keep the food for the picnic, but they give the auctioneer a description of the decorated box the lunch would be in.

The auctioneer sells it to the highest bidder and the lady has lunch with the person who bought the lunch.

Funds are used to promote rp on CC. We use it to give prizes for contests, donate to new rp guilds starting up, donate to existing rp guilds when they have fund drives and just generally support and expand rp on the server.

This is a roleplay event, but it's open to anyone who wishes to attend, including horde. There will be a translator there to repeat what the auctioneer is saying. We'll also hire a caterer for people who don't bid on the lunches. Since opposing factions can't share food, it will have to be faction specific bidding.

All money raised from horde lunches will be donated to horde rp guilds to promote events there. I am thinking of donating it to Da Doctas and they can allocate it to the other guilds. If someone from Da Doctas sees this, please respond if that would be acceptable.

Warcraftier contacted me long ago asked to combine their transmog fashion contest with a roleplay event and we decided a box social would be the perfect venue. I hope everyone who entered the fashion show will attend in your transmog outfits and even participate in the box social. It's a fun way to socialize and meet new people even if you don't normally roleplay. Who knows, you might find out you enjoy it.

For those who don't know, Warcraftier has been a supporter of roleplay for a long time. Whenever I send out a call to help, such as when AAMS held their fund raising drive, they are always very quick to respond. This is one of CC's finest guilds and I hope people will recognize the contributions they make to the server, even if they are never in the rp spotlight.

Warcraftier is sponsoring a faaaabulous 100k gold grand prize transmog contest with several smaller prizes as well. If you haven't entered, please do so. There are several categories, so don't let the great submissions already in stop you.

I heard you will be looking for Dwarves for this lil gathering. I'll be sure to be hiding somewhere in a cave, maybe near water, that has lots of sharks. I may not go, but I can send the pup in there to take my place. With a trim here and a shave there I'm sure he'd pass as a dwarf.

I'm not sure Abominus, but there is a panel. lerri asked me last night if you will be able to look at their site to judge entries. I think we're going to try and encourage as many people as possible to show up for the box social in their outfits. Perhaps we'll have a fashion parade before the auction.

I've made a post on the Warcraftier forums about this event.

To encourage attendance, Warcraftier will also raffle some prizes throughout the evening, and I have a particularly fabulous grand raffle prize in mind as well. ;P You'll all just have to attend to find out what it is (and have a shot of winning it)! :D

Should we also hire AAMS people to serve as cross-faction translators?

Also, I know that the Twilight Grove is the new designation, but is it possible to have this event in a Sanctuary location? I realize this pretty much limits it to Shattrath, Dalaran or Argent Tournament Grounds (unless Darkmoon Faire is still in town...), but with all the drama related to RP and PvP lately I'd just rather it be a non-issue here at all.

Edit: Also, transmog contest award winners that can't make it to the box social will receive their prize on August 18th at the earliest (I say "at the earliest" because I will start looking for you on August 18th, and I may not find you on that day :P So do us all a favor and go to the box social!).

I realize that the inability to edit your own posts caused some people to have to append more information later in the thread.

It's only one or two images. It's okay No big deal. You can see all the lovely outfits that I had time to photograph & post. Wish I could have shown off my frost set. Oh well.

Seriously, there is some amazing stuff in this contest, and picking clear winners isn't easy! I'm downright thrilled with what I'm seeing though, the creativity, dedication, taste (both deliriously good, and eye searingly bad), and downright fabulousness is kinda mindblowing.

I think I allready have my pick for "Most WTF?!?!?!?" too - because seriously, What The FOOTSIE?!?!?.

I might even need to make a new clown suit to wear to the judging ceremony. So please, don't hold the damn thing before 8:30 p.m. server, k?

p.s. some of these categories are pretty nuts.

Oh yeah, and there is at least one Gnome/Goblin pair that seriously needs to get together and make "beautiful music" together, if you know what I mean. /nudge /nudge /wink /wink
