“At least mine is prettier.”

“Hmph.”

Two packages sat side by side on top of the finely sanded table. One was wrapped in brightly colored paper with a fancy red bow on top. In contrast, the other was covered only in plain brown paper.

The gnome and the dwarf had been staring at the dissimilar parcels for the better part of an hour. Occasionally, one or both of them would briefly glance at the dwarf’s missing appendage and shudder. There was no way they were going to open the packages.

“How much longer?”

“Well, Nabbi, since it’s only been two minutes since ya last asked…”

Nabbi sighed. “I wanna know what’s in those! I’m DYING from curiosity.”

“Keep yer britches on. It’s not like she could come straight away.” Gertha paused to give Nabbi a small frown. “She had ta go pick up the X-ray goggles you left at the farm. It’s yer fault we have ta wait.”

Nabbi stuck her tongue out at Gertha, but went back to sitting and impatiently staring. Fortunately, Azheira arrived a few minutes later.

Ash entered the room, wearing her traveling clothes as opposed to her normal armor. She appeared calm and collected, as if she hadn’t a care in the world. Her gaze briefly checked her two employees. Finding no fresh injuries, she turned her steely eyes toward the packages.

“Has any sound come from inside the boxes?” she asked while walking around the table, looking at the containers from all angles.

“No ma’am,” Lrigknab squeaked.

Ash nodded and squatted down so that her eye level was even with the surface of the table. “And when did they arrive?”

Gertha glanced at the clock on the wall. “Just about an hour ago, ma’am. Just a few moments afore we called ya on the hearthstone. Nabbi’s came with a note. Mine came as ya see it.” She pointed at each package respectively.

Wordlessly, Ash stood. She merely held out her right hand. Lrigknab immediately pulled the note out of her vest pocket and placed it in the waiting palm.

The stoic paladin read the note to herself and then spent a few moments silently considering Noikona’s words.

“It’s a false insinuation. She has no intentions of hurting me directly. She might have once, but not since Rachel threatened the Blades.” She folded the note and put it in her satchel. “After witnessing her connection to the Blades in general and to Adrazel in particular, I have no doubts about that.”

“It seems the goat has turned her attention toward you two instead.” Ash turned to face her employees. “That is certainly something for all of us to consider. I would understand if you both prefer to leave my employ.”

Immediately Lrigknab and Gertha began to protest, but Ash cut them off with a wave of her hand. “Stop. We can discuss that later. We have more pressing matters to attend at the moment.” She nodded at Noikona’s ‘gifts’ sitting on the table, waiting to be opened as if it were a holiday.

An odd looking pair of spectacles were pulled from her bag and she put them on. Ash zeroed in on the pretty package first.

“Hm. Appears to be a flower. Seemingly harmless and probably is considering the note that came with it. You never know though, it could be poisonous.”

She turned slightly and focused on the plain package. “Damn it.” Turning to the two seated nearby she spoke harshly. “Get out. Now.”

Her tone was such that no arguments were put forth. Gertha and Lrignab immediately left the room.

Ash sighed took off the spectacles and moved to the far corner of the room. After casting Divine Shield she immediately threw a judgment onto the box with the red ribbon. The package was flattened into a brightly colored puddle of ribbon and petals.

“Not very spectacular, Noikona.” She paused for a moment to make sure there were no after effects before turning her attention to the plain box.

Belatedly, Ash realized she had paused to long. Her bubble wore off just as she cast another judgment. The second package exploded, sending fire everywhere. Ash immediately threw her shield in front of her, but was only able to cover most of her head, torso and thighs in time.

A fireball singed her hair as it flew passed. Another burned through the soft leather covering her right shin instantly upon contact. The flesh underneath melted like wax. Ash held back a scream, but struggled to breathe as the pain seared through her lower leg.

The explosion was over quickly, but the smoke lingered. Ash dropped to her knees, coughing uncontrollably, as she made her way to the door. The agony in her leg hampered her efforts. Sheer determination forced her to get to the door and open it. She wanted to collapse on the floor of the hallway, but knew she needed to assess her injury.

Sitting up against the wall, she looked at her leg. Leather and flesh were melted together in a disturbing combination of colors. The smell was horrendous. Dizziness threatened, but Ash’s fortitude was strong and she was able to remain conscious.

“Ah, fel!”

She was able to muster the strength to cast a few healing spells on herself in order to be able to stand. Using the wall for leverage, she propped herself up.

“That damn goat is going to pay for ruining my favorite pair of leggings,” Ash muttered as she limped down the hall.

Noikona stood shaking, but stayed resolute she wasn’t going to let anyone tell her what to do or where to go. In all that she had learned from those closest to her was that any action no matter how small could have significant consequences. She wasn’t here to apologize; she was here to answer for what she had already done and finish what had been started.

She set down in the corner of the inn she had claimed as her own, letting her invisibility fade. She was sure it would not take long for someone to notice her.

Noikona becoming frustrated with waiting decided that a walk would do some good. She existed the Blue Recluse, making her way around the mage tower. An overwhelming feeling of dread and hatred threatened to suffocate her. A feeling she had not felt in many months, it now radiated off the woman running towards her.

Everything happed so fast, she felt a brief pain in her chest and darkness seemed to come from everywhere. She saw Ingehart’s face in the distance, but from his look she could tell he was in as much shock as her. She tried to speak, her only concern now was to let Azheria know she was sorry, she couldn't remember if she spoke as sleep overwhelmed her.

Noikona Thulane Momlir from the Terradoctyle Peninsula on Argus

Born 5478 B.N. (Before Naaru) – Died the year 622 by the King’s Calendar

Survived by her now 6 month old daughter in the care a Naaru named F’tal

Noikona was one of the only known Man’ari that rebelled against Sargeras and sought refuge within Velen’s encampment. The Naaru knowing her for what she was put her into stasis until the Oshu’gun crashed on what is now called Draenor. Due to her unique nature the Naaru once more put her into stasis on the Exodar before it attempted to escape Draenor. Her stasis pod was jettisoned over Azeroth as the Exodar entered Azeroth real space.

With Noikona’s inability to lie and unnatural drive to live by her word, she became the security officer of the Crimson Blades with a rank of Tactical. Over the two years she was with the Crimson Blades she learned love and friendship, but her evil core routinely got her into much trouble.

Her body now rests in the Cathedral of Light.

Dear Blades and others,

If you are reading this then I guess I went too far and have passed on. How unfortunate. I rather liked the smell of a new challenge each morning. It was always humorous to see the guards tense as I walked by, it gave me a sense of power. Any ways I digress.

Well what is in this letter, well I guess it would be my parting gifts. Can you believe it, that yes I actually thought about some of you?

Anyways let’s get down to it.

Pagee, you’re my sister. You get my gold. Do what you wish with it as it’s mostly blood money but I never really liked you anyways.

Khromie, you get my library I am sure you can sort through the manuscripts and find something you haven’t read. You also get my thanks for introducing me to reading I would have never come by had I not met you, and a gnome of all things.

Meli, I have a pair of wolves I had as pets they are fairly wild but so are you. I am sure you can help them mature into fine animals.

Marian, Oh god I hope nobody invited you to this reading.

Erresona, to you I give my skinning knife. This was my father’s on Argus. Please keep it in good shape as you kept our friendship.

Violet, this is not meant to be mean. I am sure you will actually enjoy all the recipes I have acquired over the years. They are yours.

Azheria, I can write this on paper easier then I can say it. My only hope is that I said it before I passed on. I am sorry. I also want you to have my probation bracelet, you tow the line, keep it as a reminder not to cross it.

Alkaia, I give my blade. Watch over them. They are good people.

Tremia, some friends go a hundred leagues for you. You crossed worlds. I give you knowledge and hope. Look closely at your sister. She is evolving into something much more than a hunter. Her time in nature as given her a new outlook and feel for her surroundings. I believe even shamanistic. Don’t be afraid to push her in that direction. I am sure she will be much more valuable in your quest to find your parents then I would have been.

Lady Adrazel, A piece of me lives on inside of you. You have my memories and have touched my soul. You are the only one that has the aptitude to use my memoirs. Yes I know they are not your art, but you can still teach. Don’t let that knowledge die. You taught me more than anyone I know. The things we shared should live on. You can still track this danger that I felt from the sea. I made sure of that. Just listen.

Leilandra, My love. I am still in that head of yours. When it’s quiet and the breeze is just right listen and I will be there. You gave me my heart when there was none. A Naaru will give you something that I didn’t know I wanted or needed. Please take care of her. She should be 6 months old now. She is your child now. Love her for me as you loved me.

The rest of you go celebrate and get on with your lives, presents are over.

P.S. Kat there is plenty of food I am sure.

((It was a joy and a challenge to play such a character as Noikona for the past couple of years. It just came to a point where it was too difficult and plainly not fun anymore. I will miss playing her but I also feel relieved, sort of a bitter sweet feeling.

I don’t want to discourage people from playing villains or shady characters. Azeroth needs a couple to keep things interesting. Just know that they are a challenge and can be quite draining. You often have to do things that go directly against your morals and then live with the consequences.

If you see Terra/Noikona running around I ask you not to attempt to RP with her until I have race changed. So draenei Terra don’t RP with human Terra okay to RP with. If you use MRP I have stated that she has gone on.))

((Its official Azheira, I have to be nice to you now... well we will see how long that lasts, considering Terra's professor while at the academy was Noikona))
