How to roleplay a Night Elf.

I once went camping with a troll, Despite the excess of odd voodoo parefenalia (sp?) it was an enjoyable experience, though next time I'll bring furbolg repellant -shudders-

I would say a Dryad would be a poor teacher, as they seem to focus more on fun, playing and seem to want to avoid battle.

A logical teacher, for one who wants to learn about nature (and thus healing) would be a Son of Cenarius, the 'brothers' of Dryads.

A very interesting and detailed guide. Thank you.

EDIT: She didn't ask if Dryads would be the best teachers, just if a Dryad could teach, which is yes.

I was just offering another option.

I really loved the OP (though some of the bickering throughout the rest of the 15 and growing pages was somewhat laughable). It inspired me to roll a male night elf whose self-proclaimed title is "Child-tender", or more modernly a professional nanny (and, of course, there's far more to him than just that). My only real worry is that I won't find a place for him in RP, since the concept is decidedly "citizen" and as of yet I've only seen militaristic night elf roleplay guilds around. Should I keep on with this character or just go ahead and delete him now, sparing myself the trouble of not finding anywhere to fit him in?

It sounded in all honestly more like, "Dryads are bad teachers, you're wrong. Try a Keeper."[/quote]

It was more like "Dryads would make poor teachers, a Keeper would be another choice." My comment said nothing about her idea and everything about Dryad behavior.

Because Dryads are, by nature, finnicky and want to frolic. So yes, if you were learning under one you'd have to deal with "Wanna go play?" every half hour -or- (even more likely) you'd have to play games like tag to actually get any information out of her.

I'd honestly say keep with him. Just because there are military guilds around doesn't mean they won't interact with a citizen. There is random roleplay in Darnassus now too so even if you're unguilded you'd likely find somebody to talk to.

I'm not trying to condone half Night Elf banshee/half-Nether Dragon hybrids or other "impossible" beings, I'm just saying that there's room in the lore for some deviation as long as it's logical. There are Night Elves among the Twilight's Hammer. It's inevitable that a few members of any society are going to have alternative beliefs. So can I accept a Night Elf who doesn't believe in Elune because no one has seen her in the past 10, 000 years, or a Night Elf who accepts magi because of his stay in Dalaran.

While it is possible, I can not see it being a wide spread practice to not believe in or revere Elune in some way.

Amongst Night Elves it is widely accepted and believed that all Night Elves are the Children of Elune. Night Elves bare a resemblance to Elune and to many of Elunes known children such as the dryads and other ancients and Cenarius. While some theories (Supported by trolls mostly) are that Night Elves come from Trolls I would say the Elune origination theory holds more weight considering the likeness with other known children of Elune.

Also her physical descendent's in the form of Cenarius, and the Dryads ect have all been readily visible even up to the present. I would find it hard to imagine not acknowledging Elunes existence.

Honestly I don't think you could easily be a Kaldorei Night Elf and not believe in Elune. I could envision not worshiping Elune but you'd need a spectacular reasoning for such an opinion. IMHO

"I was born in Teldrassil"

I get this all the time...except it's always,

"I was born in Mulgore."

In which case, an easy error to fix. Loved reading through the guide, Nelves ftw.

Well, your opinion is WRONG.

Though I do agree that they would make terrible teachers unless you wanted to learn how to mass them with their tech upgrade so you can slow all the heavy troops on your opponents team to easily wipe them out.
