He tagged EPL last wednesday. Torched a guildie of mine.

I was heading south from Stonetalon and on the border with Desolace.

I'm told by a guildie that he hit Tanaris twice today, so it seems there's no "once per zone per day" limit to random.

Also, he cut a wide swath of destruction, but not total. It was possible to dodge the fire. Also, the two attacks hit different areas in the zone.

You are all Correct with it being random, what we need to figure out is how far apart is his attacks?

This thread Might prove more usefull if it were brought into the game, In the Channel 'Deathwing' there are a few people that pop in and out, but really not enough atm to provide some use. if we could get the majority of people who like to explore around (and still are after the shattering) to hang out in there, and Call out reports if there is a sighting of such it could prove useful if people are at least a zone away.

For the most part it is seeming like the places being hit, were places affected by Deathwing in the first place. Then again I was in Loch Modan for a few hours yesterday, afk doing Homework, in the middle of Thelsamar, and he never showed up. :(

Does anyone know how long he will be doing this? I recall I heard it may be until we are able to kill him in a raid.

no, i doubt it will be that long, as i'm sure that's probably 1 or two Content patches into Cataclysm. I'm sure The time will be up when Cataclysm drops (Dec. 7th) And then the achievement will then goto the Feat of Strength pane. (i'm not 100% sure about the date, but it seems more realistic to me)

I saw him in WPL on Sunday, and even though my bf and I stood right in his fire, we didn't die lol. Was probably around...3:00 server.

Everyone I've asked today confirmed what I thought I recalled reading, DW will be razing our lands until he is finally killed. If anyone knows differently, it'd be good to know.

He hit WPL last night...maybe around midnight, 12:30 or so.

I don't see that said.

I think they're reading into this line: "Once free to terrorize the world, Deathwing will randomly choose territories in Azeroth to attack each day until his ruinous reign is brought to an end."

Also, if you follow the blizz post links in that particular thread there is one later by Zarhym that says the following:

Yes, this isn't a permanent event, but will last so long as he's free to roam the world.

So far no luck seeing him here :-( I have a guildy that has managed to be killed twice in S. Barrens and I witnessed another guildy get the achievement in Tanaris as soon as I logged in to start hanging around for it the first time.

Yeah. I'm just saying that Zarhym is being vague and I see them reading more into it than he's saying. Maybe it does mean what they're saying it means, but *shrug*.

If I felt like being cryptic and misleading people, I'd be answering exactly like Zarhym is. Maybe he's being straightforward and the induction everyone's doing is accurate. But I see shady and deceptive because that's exactly how I'd be shady to deceive people.

What does all this mean? It means that I don't know whether or not to believe Deathwing will continue to raze the world, and I won't be surprised either way. What the blue posts have done for me is open me to the possibility that Deathwing will continue to terrorize the New Old World where before I "knew" that Tuesday was the end of it.

That's all I'm saying. Which is actually kind of a lot. tl;dr? I don't trust people, especially blues who don't give a straightforward unambiguous answer.

Just hit WPL right after that. Was flying in the southeast part of the zone, so people in Hearthglen (like me) were unaffected.
