Hey guys. I've never really been into pvp but upon ending up on Ravenholdt I looked around for some rp'ers but usually never find any. (If I do it's in Silvermoon). Do people still Rp on RP servers or did they stop because ppl made fun of them?
Also, I don't understand why ppl that don't like! RP go to an RP server... but alrighty, lol.

What are some of the better RP servers out there??

I'm always looking for a good RP server but sadly I do think RP servers have become a lot more of a PVE type server. I think the way to go would be to look for an RP guild rather then server.

They still exist! It just dies down a bit at times, usually happening right before a new expansion.

I play Horde side on Kirin Tor and there is a somewhat decent Roleplaying community there.

Also, I would talk a bit about the main public RP hubs, but chances are when Cataclysm hits a lot of that stuff will change... hopefully *fingers crossed for a Kalimdor hub for Trolls/Orcs/Taurens*.

Our guild is known for it on The Scryers. We still hold events and such and many of our members walk around and RP. I can't count how many times I've started parties in Org or somewhere just from random dancing and pulling out my RP closet :D

Yo, If you want rp go to the server Moon Guard, Usually there is much rp in stormwind but -beware!- do not go to goldshire or else....

Moon Guard is the largest, without a doubt, if you're looking for massive amounts of RP out in the world instead of in guilds.

Wyrmrest Accord has a pretty tight-knit community that spans both sides, active RP on both sides, and a lot of guilds to suit anyone's needs. You're going Horde-side, so I would suggest looking into the race-specific guilds we've got going on. I can only speak for the Tauren tribes that are on Wyrmrest Accord.

If you're planning on rolling Tauren, look into the Stormtotem Tribe, Snowhoof Tribe, Earthspear Tribe, and the Shadowhoof Tribes. These are the biggest Tauren RP guilds out on Wyrmrest Accord.

But other than that, make your decision based on your own observances rather than the plugs of everyone on this thread. You can't choose a server simply because someone told you it was awesome.

This, absolutely. Everyone will tell you that the server that they are on is "the best", but in reality what's best is purely subjective to the person.

RH is the best RP server out there (opting for quality of RP as opposed to quantity.) Should check Thunder Bluff or go ally-side and check SW. Most hordies that don't hang out in SMC RP in the wise world instead of sitting in taverns chatting. If you're really serious about finding RP, should go ask around ravenholdt.us so ya get an idea of how the community moves.

I play on Feathermoon and I've tried a character on Moon Guard, I can safely say from an unbiased point of view that it is way better than Feathermoon for RP.

Don't be so naive as to thinking that the quality of RP is decided only by the person who looks at it, there are criterias from which someone can make a reasonable assessment.

Honestly, the best choice you'll probably find making if you have nothing set up (As already joining a guild when there) is Wyrmrest or Moonguard.

Each realm has their pros and cons but that's a given. I can't really say for Wyrmrest because I've never RPed there but I do know friends that have transferred there and supposedly I can give my thumbs up to the realmif they were willing to head over there (and as far as I know they haven't left it so that's an extra thumb on one hand). I'm still on Moon Guard and, honestly, I've had a HORRIBLE streak with meeting people on Alliance-side but I HAVE met some nice roleplayers when I did RP. Since I stuck with Horde-side I can safely say I know of its experiences, and just from my experiences you'll find roleplayers walking everywhere.

Though -- and I think this is also a given -- if you really want roleplay you're gonna have to work for it, so don't be bad and just walk around and do nothing. Try to interact or just RP with yourself and perhaps people will join in. Hope this helps.

This is splitting hairs, as far as I'm concerned. My statement was not a matter of naivete, but simple experience. It'd be easy for me to say that Moon Guard is simply the best (which, IMO, I believe it is) roleplay server out there.

If you want reasons? All my friends are here, the community feels more friendly, there's roleplay out the ears no matter where you go. Other servers have felt insular and unwelcoming, making friends is difficult at best because of cliquish attitudes on many, the roleplay on many is so hidden one wouldn't even know that the server was for RP, and despite even having relatives on some, I've not managed to feel comfortable anywhere else but home.

Those are my criteria.

Again, that's totally subjective, because it was my -own- personal experience. Rather than just asking "what's the best?" a more reasonable question would be for people to actually give their own criteria.

Considering that the OP is asking "Do people still Rp on RP servers or did they stop because ppl made fun of them?", I would say Moon Guard or Wyrmrest Accord, and none of the others.

I've been on Moon Guard about a year now and there seems to be ample amounts of RP going on everywhere I go. I like it a lot. :)
