Notice how light her skin color is even when in darkness as she is. Notice her eyes. Notice the angle of her ears. It's not much, but it does go up more steeply. I never said that the differences were huge. Just easily notable.

That's also fan art, and isn't official. Also, her ears don't look upright at all, even if it were official. They're still quite night elven. Different viewing angles will have that effect.

That and the fact that she looks purple. Her eyes look the same silvery color that a Nigh Elf's do. I'm pretty sure if you took that picture and showed it around the forum people would say "night elf" a vast majority of the time. I've got to go against you on this one Syl: The sunwell changed the High Elves, not the Arcane. If arcane magic changed creatures then Gnomish mages would be showing signs as well since they've been doing it for approximately as long as the Highborn have, and there would be no Highborn night elves left and now there clearly are Night Elf Highborn left. Azshara looked like a Night Elf, she made a deal with an Old God and became a Naga and has made mortal lives a living hell ever since. That's the end of the story.

To try to put this to rest, I went and looked it up again. Apparently, all three of us are wrong.

While Azshara does exhibit some subtle changes, the reason High Elves and Blood Elves look differently than Night Elves has nothing to do with Arcane -or- the Sunwell.

Around this time, they had become completely severed from the life-giving energy of the Well of Eternity. This meant that they were vulnerable to the elements and had not received immortality from Nozdormu and the World Tree. They had shrunk in height and their skin had become a peach hue similar to most dwarves and humans. The high elves soon discovered primitive humans, but associated little with them. The forest trolls of Zul'Aman, under the Amani Empire, posed the greater threat to their society. The elves soon grew to hate the forest trolls and they fought each other whenever they met.

It wasn't the Arcane, or the Sunwell, it was the lack of the sustaining magics of the Well of Eternity. I will update the thread.

As an Casual RP I sometimes RP'ed on my rouge as a lacking in the sanity department assassin.. Basicly a funtioning Lunatic. I do hear you on "Assassins who broadcast they are assassins don't live very long." Which my said character does because she's addicted to combat.

That said I thought another question should be added to your list.

How easily can you RP as a crazy, Insane or (as I put it with my pyschotic Assassin character) Funtioning lunatic? And is it a feasible trait for RP characters?

If you can start up a topic so that I can get some kind of consensus on what people feel about it then sure. I don't want things in here to be only my opinion.

I'm just letting you forum-goers know I'm gonna keep bumping this to the front page, even if it never gets stickied, so that people can see it. I really think it's a useful resource.

This needs to be stickied. Also, how would someone RP as like... taking credit for killing a major villain like the Lich King or Yogg-Saron? I assumed you wouldn't be able to walk around with a kingslayer title saying "LOL I KILLD ARTHAS" with the amount of people who have said title. :S

Maybe you were in/around Ulduar the time Yogg-Saron died? How about in/around Icecrown?

There fighting Arthas? I wouldn't go there.
