Is it possible to make a Gilnean who wasn`t affected by the Curse? If it is would it be accepted?
Just wondering because I was going to make an RP 'brother' to my worgen and thought if one was a complete lost-control worgen than the other could have eluded the Curse or who prefers to be in human form.

Um hello I actually have a question if you all could humor me and if it has been answered before please point me to the location.
I am actually new to this have always been interested but have never been confident to try for varying reasons ( over-active imagination, intimidated, etc.) and I wanted to give RPing a try.
I kind of understand how it works in the forums I am in the process of following a few threads to learn more but I have a question regarding age for my character.
Is my character allowed to have been alive during the War of the Ancients, maybe even participated in the war, nothing major just being a random warrior fighting the Burning Legion who later turned to the Druidic path.
As an example could I say my character is as old as Malfurion and Tyrande.

Obviously if I actually tried to RP in the forums my spelling and grammar would hopefully be a lot better as well as the text looking a little cleaner:)
If I actually do start to RP I beg for your patience with my attempts I haven't decided if I am yet or not, but I wanted to ask some questions first as I learned how.

Yes this is entirely possible.

Just roll a Human instead of a Worgen. There's PLENTY of NPCs from Gilneas that escaped the Curse.

Yes. Night Elves used to be Immortal, so if he avoided accidental death between then and now he could be that old.

What exactly is the relationship between Kaldorei and the other races of the Alliance, since I have clearly be shown wrong time and again despite reading the lore on them.

Night Elves have wisened up quite a bit since the beginning of WC3. They work readily with other races. I imagine they'd be fairly close with the Humans, buddy-buddy with Worgen and Draenei, and at least generally happy to see a Dwarf. Gnomes would be pretty good friends. They've been fighting with the Night Elves on Kalimdor since Vanilla.

What is the view on the worship of Elune from another race apart from Kaldorei, say a human or dwarf convert to that worship or is it considered another facet of The Light?

I don't think anyone but a Night Elf who didn't devote a ton of time to studying Elunitism or however you'd spell that would consider it anything other than a "Hokey religion with lots of sparkly lights". They have their Light, and that works for them. Elune is a Night Elf(and by extension, Worgen) only thing.

Other races COULD convert, I guess, but I honestly don't see why they would.

Is it possible for a group to despise the war in such a way to want all of it to stop and leave their lands even if by force, I.E Wanting Kalimdor to be wiped clean of warfare and tended to by its wardens and protectors?

I could see many a Night Elf wanting to go back to the somewhat-peaceful days of the Long Vigil. And I say some-what peaceful because we know more than a few wars occurred in that time period. They just haven't been elaborated on.

Is there any sort of precedence of inner rivalry and behind the scenes combat between the Kaldorei and their cousins the Sin'dorei?

Honestly? I don't think so. The Night Elves were spying on the Sin'dorei just to see what they were up to. It was played up ingame to make it seem like the Night Elves were sabotaging them and whatever else, but I honestly think that just doesn't make a lick of sense.

It was Blizzard giving Blood Elves a reason to hate the Night Elves, and nothing more imo. But that's just my opinion.

In WC3 Tyrande shows up in Quel'Thalas or something during one of the missions, and Dath'Remar literally welcomes her with open arms.

That really doesn't sound like a strained relationship.

Do Kaldorei actually depise Mechanical devices as I have read, or is their just a leering distrust and not a full out hatred of it?

Glaive throwers are mechanical devices.

Think about it.

I've got a quick question;

How long would a zeppelin ride from org to undercity take?

I'm wanting to write a story for my hunter, and some of the plot so far depends on a long zeppelin ride.

A lot longer than it actually seems to take.

And Zepplins move slower than ships iirc.

So a few days, give or take.

I posted on the wrong character. Sue me.

Thanks to this post, I know that this toon is immortal, and about the Rez thing, about rezzing as an rp, since most people don't come back from the dead, would the hearthstone keep your soul bound to the world?

Originaly, Night Elves had an extreme distrust of Draenei, because of the whole Archidon schpeal in Warcraft 2, i think, didn't really play those, and some Night elves still obtain the whole High borne superiority complex, like some think that only night elves can be druids, others think they own the world, like how the zandalari act, you get it? Night elves are a on off friend in their own respects, while the race as an entire is alliance, individuals vary as much and as expectedly as is possible

I made this toon not believe in the "Light", he thinks it's just Telepathy

Night elves and Blood elves hate each other because of some insidences with Naga, Sin'dorei, and (Technically) Broken (They could be considered demons, though) in the outland

I have a couple questions in mind. I'm an aspiring novelist/fan-fictionist, but I've always wanted to give RP a try. Only problem, the character I can act the most upon is a half-breed (Human/High Elf). Is that allowed in the WoW community? Also, in the fiction I have concerning this toon, she is close kin to Alleria Windrunner(who has been missing for a good number of years). Is that allowed? I'm not sure what the serious RPers feel about deals like that.

Val has always been the favorite of my characters (in a story sense). No matter what game I play, she is only an elf (half-elf when allowed) and always of a hunter/ranger class. I would just hate to try and truely play with her here and get chewed out -.-

Generally, half-breeds are frowned upon, typically because they add little to a character, and most people think that people use it as a means to be "snowflakey" or a poor attempt to be unique. Non-playable races like high elves or alliance side goblins or something similar are generally frowned upon as well, mostly because people without addons won't be able to immediately recognize it (same applies to females who look like a boy playing a male character, and vice versa). Similar "off-shoot" races, like Wildhammer or Dark Iron dwarves, Mag'har and Dragonmaw orcs, Steamwheedle goblins, etc., are seen as alright for the most part.

The general rule being, "would being a half-breed/non-playable race make this character more compelling and not special snowflake-ish?" And most of the time the answer is no, and you can accomplish whatever it is you set out for with an existing race. Feel free to do whatever you like, you're just more likely to come across resistance to the idea.

And for "close kin", that's also heavily frowned upon, even openly mocked, when it pertains to major lore characters. "Long lost brother to Thrall," and what have you, is almost always a bad idea. Again, does it make the character more interesting aside from being able to namedrop the lore character at every turn? If yes, proceed with caution, but again, you won't find many people who are willing to accept it.

I don't see why not. Hunters bond with their pets, so talking to your pet dog and having him bark in acknowledgement of whatever you're saying is fine. If he's speaking actual words, that's a different story.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh,
You mean THAT kind of role play.

...

Might explain why people on the RP server were so rude to me.

Awkward.

On a serious note-

I'm on a RP-PVP server and would like to dabble in RP for giggles... It seems to me (Maybe I just havn't tried enough servers out?) that there really isn't such thing- as people don't go along with it even IF they are aware they're on a RP server... Maybe I just havn't found the right niche?

To be overly-honest, when I was a kid I'd spend a lot of time during recess playing imaginary games a lot like these with some of the other kids- How freekin cool is it we can do it online with our buddies? ....Yeah, I am a closet nerd. haha

If you want to try it but you can't find someone else on your server to RP with, my suggestion would be to make an alt on one of the bigger RP servers.

Man this is all so daunting, I have a good imagination and the idea of RP sounds like a lot of fun. However, there is so much to try an comprehend when first getting into it. I guess I'm mostly confused about how gameplay will actually work. While RP sounds fun I'd hate to have to give up aspects of WoW that I truly love and enjoy.

I guess before I get deeper into a character I should find out what the style of gameplay is like.
I mean in RP groups do you do the same things that a PvP/Norm server would do; such as dung, raids, bgs, and arenas?
