Well Oddtech, it depends who you RP with some peeps don't want to do that stuff, just like some don't like doing it in normal servers, main thing is that SOME peeps won't like you talking about all the times you beat down Illidan, but MOST people are reasonable .
Roleplaying Question Collective
(Sticky)
Just wanted to say that I aaaaaaaam back now, but you know, different account and stuff.
this is helpful and all but ummm know any servers that might do a lot of rpin? and yes i tried ptr tho it is good but ends when you are not done with it =/
I'm very new to rp'ing (just started to come up with characters and stories). My questions is at what point to humans start to practice the warlock arts? Did they always are was it after the Orc invasion?

Moon Guard or WrA are probably your best bets.
Yes I am late but I guess I can just answer them anyway.

That's a good question. I would imagine it was likely after the first or second war at some point, though I'd have to do a little research to pin it down more specifically.
I agree that questions are asked so many times. I find the search engine usually misses the mark 75% of the tries. I got so disgusted with the search engine I quit using it in the forums. I get better results using Google or Yahoo search.
Can <Race> and <Race> interbreed?
-- Really, who knows. Humans can breed with Orcs, and they're from separate planets.
Orcs can canonically interbreed with:
Draenei (Garona Halforcen)
Ogres (Rexxar/Mok'nathal)
Speculation on Trolls
Speculation on Blood Elves
Speculation on Humans
These are the only ones I know of for Orcs.
How do I RP with a 'smart' mount?
-- Carefully. Not really. It depends on the mount. Drakes could very well hold full philosophical discussions. Nightsabers, while smart, are not such conversationalists.
A LOT of people don't know this, but Wyverns can actually talk. Taurahe, Common and Orcish are the languages they speak.

I just noticed your post. ^_^ Ilu.
Can I translate that to brazilian portuguese and repost in their (our) forums? Me and a bunch of players are trying to promote Roleplaying in brazilian servers (as many of them can't deal with english language and hence cannot really fit in a foreing RP server) and this may... this will help a lot! I'll gladly put original thread and due credits, of course. ^^
01/11/2011 10:39 PMPosted by Slywyn-- Not all Gilneans are Worgen, not -all- Worgen are Gilnean(Though it's much more rare). The Worgen Curse only affects Humans, not other races. Worgen were originally created through Night Elven Druids of the Pack who were consumed by their form. The Worgen Curse doesn't have a definate timeframe as to how long it lasts, and can depend on the person.
This is right, but you forgot to mention that the first Worgen in existence, Ralaar Fangfire, was originally a Night Elf. Night Elves can turn into Worgen, but it requires excessive use of the Pack Form, whereas Humans can be cursed by a simple bite.
I wonder if Tauren could go Worgen if they Pack Formed enough or trolls for that matter,...
Your welcome future worgen with tusk :)

I really do wish we could find a way to get all those old links that do not exist anymore. Some of the ones in the beginning post are no longer available.
Hello all! I'm new to RP and just made this priest on Emerald Dream. It's only been 20 levels or so but I haven't run into any RP at all on the road or even in cities. Did I choose the wrong realm if I'm looking for an RP heavy community or in this day in age is it more prominent in smaller guild environments as opposed to public occurrences?

Emerald Dream is centered almost entirely around guild RP. Moon Guard or Wyrmrest Accord is your best bet for random, walk-up RP. I recommend WrA!
Can we get the Seat of Knowledge Archive back into this sub-forum?
I kind of miss the Challenge of the Week posts that I hadn't saved as a document. I think about re-writing them all the time.

Hey folks! This is Folkvar Brightale. He's my first real attempt to get into RP and really flesh out a character. You may notice that he's on a non-RP realm, and this is because he's one of my favorite alts on my home realm, and I really wanted to unlock his potential as a character living and breathing in Azeroth. I made a character named Brightale on Moon Guard to act out Folk's ingame RP, but I'm not sure which realm would fit me best; MG is kind of a placeholder until I can find my own home server with a community I enjoy.
Since I'm relatively new to RP, I want my "RP main" to be how I personally would act in a perfect world, and lived in Azeroth. So some features of Folkvar will be traits I have outside of the game (generally kind and merciful to those who wrong him), some will be exaggerated (slower to anger than I am, but much scarier than me when he reaches that point), and some will be flat-out "I wish I was like that" (very family-and-country-oriented, social, etc).
Is this unrealistic? I'm not a horrible writer (had a decently popular fan fiction of the Pokemon universe on another site for a while), so I'm sure I can make things sound nice, but how do people respond to self-projections like this? Maybe they won't care, since most people I interact with won't know me in real life. I don't know, this is all new and exciting to me.
Also nerve-wracking, because in starting to form ideas for a character backstory, I begin to realize just how many small details and nuances go into a chatacter's history, and I'm afraid that I'll mess up and ruin the fun for others who are role playing with me. I know more about lore than the average-Joe WoW player, but tiny trivia tidbits really stump me sometimes.
So I guess I'll just have to jump in and find out? My major question isn't really a question at all, but a request for a breakdown of various RP servers and the communities within. I could make a character and scope out each realm, but with the amount of new people that must pass through, I feel like a lot of my questions would be met with scripted replies or being too nice just to get me to stay (it's happened before). I haut want real talk from real people on the servers c:
Thanks so much, guys! I'm excited to try this new experience out!
